A project can be divided into the following steps: Dialogue about specification and costs, production and delivery. |
Dialogue about specification (modelling) The client and the producer, initially through dialogue, have to agree on quality goals and accomplishability for the product to be the final result. It is important to carefully describe and document all important steps and specifications for the result to please the costumer’s expectations. At a purchase/quotation the steps above are minimized. The dialogue can very well be continued during the project when questions arrive. NaturGIS AB has a quality policy that includes that the costumer always should get something more than expected. |

Delivery for computers or printing A common final product is a digital map data base. That data base can be used for different types of further GIS-analysis by the costumer. The map data base is delivered in the format used by the software used by the costumer. The more object types and attributes that occurs the bigger the need to also deliver help files that show the types in different colours and screen on the monitor. The final results can also be summarized in statistics that can be brought out in different combinations. The statistics can be improved further in desirable degree. During the project, verification plots can be useful. An overview of the results can be delivered as images in any desired resolution for example for production of overheads, use at websites or in publication. A printed map or leaflet means further developing of one or many map data bases, fact collection, work with describing texts and illustrations and design. Maps can also be put on websites as pictures with legend and descriptions or as a “living” map data base. The latter can mean that the user himself can choose the cut, make searches etc. |
